The highly successful RICS West Midlands Construction and Awards dinner took place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Friday 20 May 2011. This enjoyable evening offered an opportunity for RICS members, and key players in the construction industry, to network, entertain clients and enjoy a superb three-course dinner.
For the first time the RICS West Midlands Awards ceremony was incorporated into the annual Construction dinner and celebrated a wide range of winning projects from across the region. The overall Project of the Year award went to mac in Birmingham, where the judges felt the expansion and updating of the existing mac building, as well as the new build additions, has been hugely successful and had strong links into the local community.
The 640 guests at the dinner also helped raise £4866 for two charities - LionHeart, the RICS benevolent fund, and Acorn Children’s Hospice. Attendees then went on to enjoy an after-dinner speech from former Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott.
This event was kindly sponsored by Faithful & Gould, Franklin + Andrews, Holbrow Brookes, Seddon and Skanska.
