A fantastic selection of wines will be provided for you to sample and enjoy, along with savoury snacks at this fun evening, in the cellar at Red Zebra wine bar. At the tasting you'll also learn how to taste wine and be given general tips and tricks for pairing wine with food.
This event is to welcome new members and is an occasion when you can meet with members of the RICS matrics committee and members from around the county in an informal environment at this networking event.
RICS matrics is a networking group for Chartered Surveyors who have been qualified for 10 Years or less, together with Surveying Students and APC Trainees of any age. RICS matrics has over 35 local groups across the UK . Dress code is smart casual.

During this talk there will be an overview of the BREEAM process (particularly how it affects Quantity surveyors) and the stages of the project that will be impacted by BREEAM.
Although information regarding the BREEAM related costs is currently limited, the talk will cover the research work which has been done historically (primarily regarding education buildings) and the work which is ongoing.

In 2009 the Wolstenholme Report [Never Waste a Good Crisis] suggested that construction clients have only a 50:50 chance of delivery to time and on budget. Clients may see this as failure of their design and construction team

Seeking strategies to improve this is considered important if client confidence in the construction sector is to improve.
This presentation by Roy Morledge will argue that a structured approach to identifying likely causes or symptoms of potential future failure will enable early warning of later problems with a chance to reduce and manage the associated risks.

Don't miss the next RICS Lincolnshire CPD: Lincoln Cathedral Tour
Event Details:
This tour will commence with a talk given by the Clericus Fabricae who will give a brief overview of planning and budgeting for all projects and the involvement with craft skill training.
The talk will then be followed by a tour of the roof, including watching the highly skilled carpenters and joiners whilst working on the on the South East Transept Roof. On this part of the roof the lead lined gutter and roof has been stripped back to reveal C1220 medieval roof trusses and tie beams.
There will be an opportunity to talk to the craftsmen working on site including viewing the current masonry and carving work which is in progress too. Access is via a haki type open staircase; climbing approximately 80ft so unfortunately this tour is only suitable for the able bodied. Full PPE is required for this tour. The tour is subject to limited numbers so early booking is advisable.
